I like the utilitarian nature of 'standard issue', school pencil case, letter stencils. The typeface tends to be similar every time, it's rounded and looks like every font, but it's nothing specific.
Although not a stencil font, Benelux is inspired by the style of the typeface used for these stencils.
The look is something I see in European styles of the second half of the twentieth century (particularly Din) and their origins can be traced back to the Bauhaus.
Broadly geometric and with an emphasis on legibility, Benelux is well-balanced and equally effective at both text and display sizes.
